Midleton Men Do Club Proud In Munster Championships
Congratulations To A.J Murphy
– Individual Medal Winner
A.J. Murphy, Noel O’Regan, Stanislaw Byczek, Denis Kelleher, Adam Duchnicz, Ned Ramsell and John Hennessy travelled to Waterford on Sunday to take part in the Munster Masters Road Race Championships.
Congratulations go to A.J. Murphy who put in a storming finish to take 3rd place in Munster in the M45 category in a time of 22:27 for the 4 mile course. A. J. doubled up with a Gold medal as a scoring member on the winning Cork county team.
The Midleton team finished as 4th place club for the second year in succession, just losing out to Waterford AC by 2 pts in what would have been a clean sweep for east cork clubs with Youghal AC taking 1st and East Cork AC 2nd. Maybe next year will be 3rd time lucky!”

New Training Arrangements

The summer season is fast approaching and thus a change is also on the way with regard to training. Monday training will revert to Midleton CBS Field from April 16th at the new time of 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Note no training on Bank Holiday Monday April 9th. The regular Wednesday 7pm training will now take the form of a TUESDAY outdoor run from the Community Centre as and from last evening Tuesday March 27th.
The Development Group (formally Beginners) will continue to meet Wedensdays @6 pm until further notice.
Also PLEASE note we are NOT taking any beginners (ie people just starting running ) until October due to safety reasons as we will be outdoors until then.
Of course anyone who wishes to join and CAN RUN at least 4-5 miles before then is VERY welcome. So please do not invite beginners along as refusal may offend them(and you) and most likely discourage them from joining in the future. Danny
