Carrigtwohill 5Km

Sheila Buckley 2nd Lady Overall and 1st Local

A fantastic nights running was held in Carrigtwohill for the annual 5Km with a total of five hundred and thirty plus runners taking part. The numbers were a little down on last year but with the amount of races on the calendar these days that is understandable and it certainly did not take from the event. It is without a doubt one of the best organised events around a great credit must go to Paul and Sile Kearns, Ned Ramsell and the rest of the crew for such a fantastic event. From stewarding to food to prizes this event cannot be faulted.
We saw some great results from our athletes with Sheila Buckley again demonstrating her true potential as an athlete in coming 2nd Lady overall and 1st Local Lady. Several others had great runs and among the prize winners were Mary O'Keeffe 2nd O/45, Marie Gillman 1st O/50 and Martha McNamara 3rd O/55 .
Whilst our men also did great with Noel O'Regan 1st O/45. Tom Cody 2nd O/60 and more details to follow.
