Magic Mile

Don't forget the last of the Magic Mile series takes place tomorrow evening in the Cricket Field. If you have not tried it already please feel free to give it a go .If you are not in you cannot win.

John Hartnett 10Km

We had one runners here on Sunday the great Neilus Aherne who once again was in the prizes when he claimed 3rd O/55. Well done once again Neilus.

National Championships

Not the best of days for Daniel today as he stumbled coming out of the blocks for the 100m and after two strides couldn't get his feet settled and lost a lot of ground. He ran well in the two hundred but didn't get placed. Considering he is a 400m runner to qualify for two national finals in two disciplines he is not very familiar with is a fantastic achievement.

Daniel Colbert had a fine days running today when he qualified for the national final of the 200m which takes place tomorrow and was just three places off the final of the 100m but qualified for the final of the Bs. Wishing him the very best tomorrow.

Mitchelstown 8km

Neilus Aherne continued on his winning streak last night Friday in the Mitchelstown 8km where he won 1st O/55 Alan Morley also had a very fine run.

Shanagarry 5Km

Thursday evening saw the running of the "Best Kept Secret Race In The World" namely the Shanagarry 5km with details only announced the previous day. There was a handy crowd of almost sixty took part similar to previous years. We had all our regulars plus a few newcomers also several who ran the previous evening in Cloyne. It is a truly traditional style race with no water and no spread after etc just some serious running. We had several lady prize winners including first lady home Eileen Leahy in a time of 20.16 then Anne Marie Perry 1st O/40 and her mother Margaret Barry 1st O/50.

The best of luck to all competing this weekend and the is a very nice race Sunday see below.
