TOGHER 5Km

Well done to each and everyone who ran/jogged/walked this race this morning the conditions were atrocious but despite the conditions there was some very fine running out there. Lizzie Lee had a great blowout (as advised by her coach) and came home an easy winner. Its worth standing in any conditions to see this amazing woman run.
We had a smaller than usual crew out there but there were some fine runs. Joan Hough had a great run and without doubt will be amongst the prize winners when the results come in. Others who had fine runs were  David O'Sullivan, Paul Kearns, Ian Kohler and Sandra O'Connor. Apologies if I missed anyone.

Lap Of The Lake Relay

The Lap Of The Lake Relay held in Ballintotis on the morning of the 27th was without doubt one of the most enjoyable events running wise that I have attended all year. The atmosphere was electric and the craic was ninety one. There were serious runners mixing with fun runners and walkers all working together for a great cause. Well done to Sean Leahy and crew and to everyone involved.

NEWSFLASH

Belgooly 4 cancelled on health and safety grounds. Pass the word please.

Statement from Organisers
Today's Belgooly 4 has been cancelled on Health & Safety grounds.
The flooding has abated somewhat but water and, in particular debris along the course, has led to the organisers, Belgooly AC, cancelling the event.
It's a pity, as this is a n extremely popular race and raises a lot of money for the Bowel Cancer Unit at CUH, but participant, and race official, safety is the number one consideration, as always
