Killeagh 4 Mile
On what was a beautiful morning for running a great crowd turned out for the Killeagh 4 Mile on Sunday morning. We had a great crowd from our club and again we had a great number of PBs including David Moynihan, Ger O'Regan, Fionan O'hAodain and Dereck Aherne amongst others. It was great to see Sinead Keavney getting back on form and taking 1st O/35 and Siobhan Murphy having a great run with 2nd O/40 whilst Helen Gilroy getting back to where she deserves to be taking 1st O/50. All our runners seemed to have great runs.
The whole event was really well organised and great credit is due to the organisers. The food after was second to none and there was no delay with prizes or results. Killeagh take a well deserved bow and if ye decide to do this again ye will have twice the crowd next year.
So far I only have five names for the Cork county road championships. Last year approximately 30 men and 15 women from Midleton AC took part and we won numerous medals, both team and individual. This year's race is in Castlelyons (only about 20 minutes from Midleton).
It would be a pity not to be able to enter even one team in this year's event. Please consider running this race if possible. It's on at 10.00 am so you'd be home in plenty of time for the parade!
If you would like to be entered please contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org) by tomorrow Sunday.
