WEEKEND RUNAROUND

Athletics On TV

Don't forget that the Irish Life Health National Athletics Championships from the Morton Stadium Dublin will be on RTE2 from 5.30 to 8pm tomorrow Sunday. It should be well worth watching as many will be try to book their places for Berlin next month.Danny

Killarney Calling

Reports in from three very happy ladies who completed the Killarney Half Marathon this morning saying it was one of Irelands most scenic races and the weather was just perfect. Well done all.

Best of luck to everyone running this weekend. We have a fine bunch due to run in both the 10km and Half Marathon in Killarney and we have young Frank O'Brien running in the Nationals in Dublin. If you want FREE TICKETS for the Nationals see my previous post.

Ballinacurra 4 Mile

On one of the worst evening's we have had in months Ballinacurra 4 Mile took place Thursday evening. Starting in the pouring rain which luckily stopped about five minutes into the race which helped a little but the surface was very wet underfoot. We had a fine crowd there despite having so many running at this weekend and everyone came home well satisfied with their runs.

Michael Abernethy had another powerful run and came away with a PB once again. Our first man home was Edwin Cashman despite being in holiday mode and Helen Gilroy also had a very fine run to be our first lady home and take the 1st O/45 prize. Sheila Buckley took 1st O/35 prize. It was a very well organised event with lots of spot prizes which were distributed before the race and a fine spread after. Danny
