WEEKEND RUNAROUND

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Senior Section of the club to elect officers for the coming year takes place in My Place on Tuesday evening next 12th Feb at 8pm. All Senior members are requested to attend please.

MUNSTER INDOORS

A win on Saturday was not enough for our man Neilus Aherne he returned to the Munster Indoor Championships on Sunday to win Silver in both the 800m and 1500m as well.

Remember Neilus offers special rates to club members needing a massage or advice on injuries etc. Give him a call at 0868438355
it is always better to talk to someone who has been there and done it.

Jannsen 6Km Little Island

On a cold, wet and windy morning the Janssen 6Km took place in Little Island on Sunday morning. As can be seen from the photo's we had a large crew there. Everyone seemed to have fine runs and as usual we came away with prizes.
Our first man home was Edmond O'Sullivan having another cracker of a run and our first lady was Gillian Bransfield. Edmond took 2nd O/55 prize and Gillian took 2nd O/35 which is great running especially as this is one of the most competitive of the master categories.
Joan Hough had another great run taking 1st O/60. Gillian and Joan also won 1st Team prize for Midleton Town Council in Grade C. As usual the event was superbly organised with loads of Spot Prizes and a great spread after.

Alan O'Shea winner of the race.

MUNSTER INDOORS

A big congrats once again to Neilus Aherne who WON the 3.000m indoor O/60 in Nenagh on Saturday.

Midleton News

Once again the Midleton News carries a great spread on our club at the Dungarvan 10. This magazine always carries excellent coverage of all our club's activities and is well worth supporting.

Not as busy a weekend this weekend as last weekend and not as much travelling involved as the main race is only up the road for most of us but we have two athletes heading to the Munster Indoor Championships in Nenagh. They are Neilus Aherne and Jessica Strain and we wish them both well.

Janssen 6Km
The next race on the BHAA calendar is the Janssen 6k on Sunday February 10 Th. at 11am. Registration is open from 9.30am at Little Island Sports Hall. Race costs €5 for registered runners, €10 for non-registered runners. You can still register in advance of the race but we need to get your details and payment by Friday

As can be seen from above it is well worth joining BHAA as you save 5 euro on every race and will be eligible for prizes. See the form on the previous post and talk to Edmond O'Sullivan at training any evening.
