Janssen 6 Km Littleisland

The Eddie Hennessy Memorial

One hundred and seventy five runners braved the Orange Alert wind warning on Sunday morning and headed to Littleisland for the Janssen 6 Km/ The Eddie Hennessy Memorial where our own Marie Gillman was one of the organisers. We had a crew there and all did well under the tough conditions. Marie Gillman herself got 2nd O/55 prize and also took a team prize. Ian Kohler took 2nd O/70 and Joan McCarthy fresh from Dungarvan last Sunday won 1st O/60.

As always the race was very well organised with a great spread of prizes.

All Ireland Masters Cross Country

We had a fine representation form our club in Rathdrum Co Wicklow for the All Ireland Masters Cross Country with several representating Cork. All went very well in the terrible conditions of Saturday and great credit is due to them for travelling such a distance to represent club and county. Unfortunately some of those selected had to cry off due to illness but they live to run another day. No results to hand yet. Thanks to Siobhan O'Leary and Edmond O'Sullivan for the photo's.

Best of luck to all running and racing this weekend. We have a fine crew heading to the All Ireland Masters in Rathdrum Co Wicklow unfortunately we have ahad a couple of dropouts due to illness and work commitments but we still have a fine representation going. Also to those venturing to Littleisland BHAA 6km on Sunday morning we hope the weather will not be as bad as forecasted.
