Our Ladies Team with their delighted supporters

We had some great results and fantastic running from our members today in Conna at the East Cork Senior and Masters Cross Country Championships.

Sinead O'Driscoll was the first Lady home and a clear winner. She won Gold Senior and Gold O/35 whilst Eileen Leahy had a brilliant run to take 3rd Senior individual and win her first Senior East Cork medal.

Loveness Hegarty who gets better with every race had a great run as did Catherine Sheridan who made up the rest of the team. Giving our Ladies Team Silver Senior (losing Gold by only one point) and our Ladies O/35 Team also Silver (again losing Gold by only one point)

John Hennessy took individual Gold O/45 and our men's team of  of John Hennessy, Henry Milward, Declan Dorgan and Ger O'Regan took Silver Senior Team and our Team of John Hennessy, Declan Dorgan, Ger O'Regan and Maurice Ring also took Silver O/35.

Showing what a great team sport Cross Country is every one of our members who ran today came home with team medals. A big thanks also to our great supporters who cheered our athletes all the way.

A big thanks also to St Catherine's Club who organised the whole event so very well.

Lads and Ladies this is an ideal opportunity to try Cross Country in a nice friendly atmosphere Ideal for the first timer so why not give it a go. Anyone who can run around the field at training on a Monday can do this and maybe you will discover a hidden talent. It is a team sport and every runner counts.

We need a few O/35 ladies especially for a team so come on, be brave and help your club mates bring hope the medals.

Its only out the road and you will be home again in no time  Danny

MRRA report and photos Andre Brodkorb

We had three entries from Midleton AC at today’s Munster Mountain Running Association race in our own Curragh woods in Midleton. It is a hard and difficult race, but Henry Millard, Barry Williams and Siobhan Barry managed the steep slopes, which were transformed overnight from lovely summer trails to muddy and treacherous mountain trails. Well done everyone!

 CLOYNE 5Km

Another great night in Cloyne and superbly organised, It was wonderful to meet so many old friends and to see so many out running.

We had a great crew out and all ran well. The Flying Spiteri Duo both had great runs whilst Ger O'Regan narrowly missed out on a PB .Loveness Hegarty showed her class and had a cracking run and earned herself a PB.

A great evening was had by all and a big thanks to all our members who came out to support including young Tom McCarthy who was there to cheer on his Dad Eugene. Thank you Cloyne Community for making it all happen.
