WEEKEND RUNAROUND

It Was A Rainy Night In Fota

The evening looked miserable with the rain lashing down but then the gods smiled on us and the rain stopped and stayed that way for the duration of the race .

We had a good number of runners there despite the competition from The Boss playing up the road. Our first runner home was once again Daren Ahern in 17.32 finishing 13th overall and he was followed by our first lady Dee Duran in20.19 an excellent time considering she ran a great marathon less than two weeks ago. Over seven hundred runners took part.
All our other runners had fine runs in the excellently organised event. Well done Eagle AC

Don't forget John Buckley's 5Km BHAA Race next Tuesday evening in the Marina. Always a great night.

WEEKEND RUNAROUND

We have a few races to catch up on this week the first being the Phizers 6 Mile held last Wednesday evening where we had four runners  Amanda Cooney, John Cashman, Barry Drennan and Mark Fuller.

John Cashman was in action again on Friday night when he headed to  West Waterford for the Ballinroad 5Km where he clocked 20.26. Great to see John getting back in action after his injury.

Then came the Bweeng 5Km where we had very fine runs from Darren Ahern 17.08 , Vicki Spiteri 19.24 and Eileen Leahy 20.36

Training as usual Monday 6pm Cricket Field and Wednesday 6.30 in Market Green two great sessions and all are welcome..

 One for the diary

This is one definitely considering not only is it a fine and popular race but in previous years if you held on to your number you got 20% off your next purchase in John Buckley's and HOPEFULLY they might have it again this year.

WEEKEND RUNAROUND

UPDATES

No Training on Monday as its a Bank Holiday

Well done to Dee who completed the Copenhagen Marathon in the magnificent time of 3.27.28 getting a PB by over 30minutes.

Big well done also to Xavi who did the Barcelona 10km and also to Amanda and Tony who completed the Great Limerick Run Half Marathon in preparation for Cork on the June weekend.

Sympathy goes to our Captain Ger who unfortunately had a bad fall around the eight mile mark in the Limerick Marathon and had to drop out shortly after. But as the man himself says "we live to fight another day" and no doubt he will.

Anyone else running races please let me know.

Midleton 5 A Great Success

Winners Kealey Tideswall and Michael Harty

A huge thank you to everyone who ran tonight and to the huge amount of club members and friends who helped out in any way. A very big well done to Maire and Mike our race directors.

We had a great crowd running well over three hundred due in no small part to Maire and her great instagram posts.

A big thank you to everyone who brought food and to all who gave up their race to steward. There are far too many to mention by name but well done and thank you all.

A huge thank you to Eagle AC for including us in their series and bringing so many of their members to the race.

Also to Michael for chosing us as his comeback race and to Kealey for travelling from Clonmel. Both our deserving winners.
