TRAIL RUNNING

The evening Trail Runs have come to an end due to the closing in of the evenings. A huge thank you to Andre Brodkorb who organised and planned and advised on these runs. The variety of the runs was great and they proved a huge hit with our members and the results showed in our great Cross Country recent successes. Well done Andre we look forward to the next batch. Some shots of the last night in Knockadoon.

Climb a mountain, Jump in a lake anything to avoid Cross Country by Edmond O'Sullivan

Unable to take part in the cross country last Sunday, 1 super-elite over 55 athlete and 2 fairly average over 60 athletes struck off for a training camp on Carrantuohil. Up the Devils Ladder like a troupe of mountain goats followed by a sprint finish to the base of the cross...similar to the biblical Peter and Johns’ dash to our Lords tomb, the super elite athlete controversially reached the cross first.

All three athletes were absolutely delighted with the club success relayed to the summit from Carrignavar. Well done all athletes.
Midleton AC athletes and all members, with such phenomenal success for the club, bear a huge debt of gratitude to Danny and Sally for doggedly keeping the cross country arm of the club alive for so many years, often in appalling weather and with very small representation by our members. Thank you SO much, Danny and Sally.

 We Are The Champions

Midleton AC Men's Team Win The East Cork Novice Championships

and Win 1st and 2nd Individual Men

plus Bronze for Eileen in the Ladies.

On a spectacular day for the club we won the Novice Team Championships in flying style with Frank O'Brien having a great run to continue his winning streak closely follow in Silver by Tony Forrestal next home after running a gallant race was John Hennessy in fifth position who was followed by our fourth scoring member Daniel Bloom. All our runners had really fine run and the rest of the team was made up of Edwin Cashman, Declan Dorgan, Ger O'Regan, Andre Brodkorb, Michael Beirne and Mark O'Reilly.

Our ladies also had great runs with Eileen Leahy leading our crew home and claiming an individual Bronze Medal. Every single one ran their hearts out on a very warm day. The ladies team were Eileen Leahy, Sally Drennan, Louise Barry,Catherine Sheridan, Loveness Hegarty Margaret Twohig.

Well done all once again ye all did the club proud on what was the most unusual day for cross country I have ever seen in many's the year of attending cross country. A big well done also to Carrignavar AC who organised the event in a most excellent manner.

We would appreciate if each club could provide one additional steward with their Covid officer. Arrival: The venue will be well sign posted. There will be three fields in operation as follows: 1. Parking will be in one field only. Plan to arrive in good time for your race as they will go off on time. Allow time to check in. Please follow stewards’ instructions at all times. 2. Recording of athletes at finish: As we can no longer give out tickets at the finish line – we ask each club to provide a stick- on number to all of their competing juvenile athletes marked with their relevant club number. Each juvenile club will be allocated a number and all club athletes must wear that number as follows: Ballymore Cobh A.C. 1 Carrignavar A.C. 2 Midleton A.C. 3 St. Catherines A.C. 4 St. Nicks A.C. 5 Watergrasshill A.C. 6 Youghal A.C. 7 It is very important that each club coach knows their first four athletes in each race as our recorders will only record a club number and not a name. A separate recording procedure will be in place for the Ladies and Men’s Novice race. All athletes must pre enter in order to compete.
