WEEKEND RUNAROUND
County Road Championships 2019
The Cork county road championships (novice and masters) will be held on Monday, 18th March.
Although the venue is to be confirmed, my understanding is that it will take place in Castlelyons as it has for the previous few years. Please consider running this race for the club. Entries will be made in advance. Further details to follow nearer the time, but put the date in your calendars! Further info. from Sally Drennan.
Carrigaline 5 Mile
Ann Geary 3rd Lady
The annual Carrigaline 5 Mile took place on Sunday morning under very windy conditions. We had only four runners here where once in the days of the Ballycotton 10 we would have had forty or more.
Ann Geary had a very fine run to finish 3rd Lady overall and Barry O'Shea also had a good run finishing in the top ten despite being ill during the week. It was great to see Peter Gunning back racing again. Carrigaline 5 is where Peter made his debut at road racing many years ago. Joan McCarthy also had a fine run.
The race was as always very well organised by Eagle AC. There was a prize draw for the online entries which Barry O'Shea won.
Cloyne 4Km Race No.4
A total of two hundred and twenty five turned up in Cloyne on Sunday morning. We had a great crowd from the club there as always. Our first man home was Tim Hannon who seems to be on fire at present . He finished 5th overall. Our first lady was Sally Drennan who is also running very well at the moment. Apologies to anyone whose photo I missed but Carrigaline 5 was calling.
