East Cork Division 5Km Championships

The East Cork Division 5Km Championships took place on the MTU Track on Wednesday evening. It was a warm evening for racing but the members we had there did extremely well . We came away with two  silver medals won by two athletes who never ran track before. Vicki Spiteri came 2nd in the Ladies Race and Tony Forrestal came 2nd in the Mens race. John Aherne also ran in this race and ran very well again especially as he had never run track before either. It was apity we had not some more athletes there but understandable with the holidays and the warm weather. We did see some great running from those that came. Well done all ye did your club proud.

Well done also to John Hennessy Chair East Cork Division and Mike Dorney Secretary for organising the event along with Carrignavar AC who gave up their training night in order that the track was available..
