WEEKEND RUNAROUND

"How To Train As A Midlife Woman"

A hugely successful course entitled "How To Train As A Midlife Woman" was held on Saturday morning in My Place. Organised by John Hennessy Chairman East Cork Division.

It was very well attended and all reports praised it highly. John is hoping to organise some more courses in the new year, Below is our crew who attended.

 Clonakilty Half Marathon

The full marathon was cancelled due to flooding which meant that Kevin Moran had to do the Half Marathon instead which was very disappointing for him as he had really trained hard for it.

He ran a great half despite the very bad conditions. Coming home in a time of 1.52.32.

We also had Declan Dorgan there who also had a good run in the tough windy conditions coming home in 1.27.17. Well done guys.

 GLENVILLE 4 Mile

Sunday morning saw the return of the Glenville 4 mile and as always its was superbly organised by Waterglasshill AC.
We had three runners there Joan McCarthy, Mark Fuller and John Cashman, All had fine runs and John won 1st O/55.
Whilst Joan McCarthy won 1st O/65

John Cashman 1st O/55

Joan McCarthy 1st Lady O/65

Old Parish Turkey Trot

We had one runner here today and he certainly was not trotting. Ger O'Regan finished 1st O/50 and 16th position overall in a great time of 33.10 for this 5 mile race in very windy conditions.

Macroom Bye Pass 5Km and 10mile Run

We had Edmond O'Sullivan here today doing the 5Km race and running under 20min but unfortunately he had no chip to get exact time. Whilst Mags Twohig, Gina Brunton, Clare Deegan and Amanda Cooney did the 10mile.

Edmond with Michael Creed TD who he went to school with.

WEEKEND RUNAROUND

Another Great Weekend For Our Club

Cloyne 4Km A Win and a Second Place

The Cloyne 4Km series started with a bang on Sunday morning with a fantastic crowd attending and we saw some great racing. In the men's race we had Tony Forristal running a brilliant race only to be pipped on the line in a great finish especially considering his great marathon run only three weeks ago. We had Vicky Spiteri winning the ladies race in great style and under no threat. A special mention must go to our second man home Denny McLean (Jnr) who ran a great race to get a PB and break his Dad's record whilst he was at it.

Well done to all who ran.

Cork Mental Health 5 Km BHAA Little Island

Sunday morning also saw Cork Mental Health 5Km in Little Island where we had four runners and the four came away with prizes.

Ger O'Regan 2nd O/50, Edmond O'Sullivan 2nd O/60, Amanda Cooney 3rd O/60 and Joan McCarthy 2nd O/65
