HELP NEEDED FOR LADIES MINI MARATHON

 Hi Everyone,

Cork County Board's biggest event of the year is on next Sunday 22nd Sept.
We are appealing to Clubs to send stewards and helpers as there are extra demands for stewards this year.

Thank you to those clubs who have already given us 30 names, but this is far short of the 100+ that we require.

Your Club may wish to fill up the volunteer form online on our website or contact the following: Eamonn McEvoy Tel: 087-7593049 email eamonnmcevoy54@hotmail.com or Sean O'Lionard Tel: 087-2732847.

Regards,
Esther Fitzpatrick.

WEEKEND RUNAROUND

We Are The Champions (Well Our Ladies Are)

Spectacular results for our club in the East Cork Cross Country Championships in Conna on Sunday.

We saw some fantastic racing and all our runners ran their hearts out.

Our Ladies did amazingly well. Led home by Sinead Falvey who took individual 3rd overall and led home our Ladies Team of Sinead O'Driscoll, Nathalie O'Connell and Eileen Leahy to overall victory in the Ladies Championship race.

She also led the Ladies O/35 Team  of Sinead O'Driscoll and Nathalie O'Connell to Gold whilst taking individual Gold herself in the Ladies O/35 and Sinead O'Driscoll taking Silver and Nathalie O'Connell taking individual Bronze. Joan Hough took Bronze O45.

A special mention for Nathalie O'Connell who stepped in to make up the Ladies Team and running cross country for the very first time ran a brilliant race to enable the team to take the gold.

Unfortunately we did not have a men's team but Edmond O'Sullivan took bronze O/45 and Rod Scanlan had a mighty run to narrowly miss out on bronze finishing a very close 4th.

A fantastic day for our club and its great to say we did so well.

Dingle Marathon

Dingle marathon no. 14  finished. Although I did struggle a bit for the last 6 miles I came in in just under 4 hours and I'm particularly happy that various injuries held up very well. It was an exceptionally warm day but all in all I'm happy with it Declan

Wednesday Training

Wednesday Training with Edmond resumes at the Co-Op main entrance, next Wednesday, September 11th, 6.30 to 7.30.  The format is a general 15 minute warm-up followed by a session in groups ( Slow, medium, fast) which could be hills, intervals, fartlek, tempo or pace training…you find out on the night! See some of you there.

NOTE: please wear hi-viz of some sort, especially later in the month as it starts to get dark towards the 7.30 mark.
