WEEKEND RUNAROUND

East Cork Novice Cross Country Champiomships

Silver for Midleton AC Ladies and Bronze for Sinead Falvey

Our ladies team did really well in the East Cork Novice Cross Country Championships in Carrignavar on Monday where the took the Silver team prize and Sinead Falvey won individual bronze. Some of these ladies never ran cross country before and did not even have spikes but they persevered and brought home the medals. Well done Sinead Falvey, Dee Duran, Eileen Leahy, Erica Gatt and Brigid Ryan.

Dublin Marathon

We had nine runners here on Sunday on an ideal day for running when the National Marathon Record was broken. The beauty of a marathon is that its all on the day. We saw some spectacular results from the club and loads of PBs and one or two sad faces also but that's the marathon for you.

Well done to all who ran and also to those who travelled to support. Thanks for all the photos especially to Claire Fitzgerald who was everywhere also to everyone else who sent in photos also. Anyone with more photos please send them to mdtacinfo@gmail.com

They were saying that there was lightening during the race yesterday but it was only Siobhan smiling

WEEKEND RUNAROUND

County Novice Cross Country

We had five runners there today With a strong Ladies team minus their stalwart Sinead Falvey who had to miss it unfortunately for personal reasons. It just shows how important is is to have that extra person when a team is involved. We had Eileen Leahy, Meadhbh Campbell, Rosie Young and Dee Duran making her Irish debut in cross country. All put in excellent performances. Our sole male runner was Edmond O'Sullivan running his second race of the day and making a fine job of it too. Well done all who kept the MAC flag flying.

Action Packed Weekend For Kevin Toth

Action packed weekend.  Saturday Quest Killarney 14k hill trial run, 46k bike and 1k kayak. Sunday 10k Waterford Solas run with a PB.

Defense Forces BHAA 5Km

Sunday morning saw the Defense Forces annual 5Km take place in Tramore Valley Park over the usual Park Run Course. We had four runners there and all ran well. New Book by Midleton AC member

Christopher McCarthy

"Capacocha" is a new short story collection available for €10 in Midleton Books, online at Print My Book and I'll have copies available at Training on Monday 14th October.

The rugged majesty of an islands cliffs.  The exhilaration of driving through a desert at night.  Transcending to an enlightened plain of consciousness.  An unexpected duet in a dimly lit city bar.  Love lost.  Redemption.

Reflections on the passage of time and the beauty present in every moment.

Kind Regards,

Chris
