Carrigaline Walkway 5Km

Christopher McCarthy was our only runner here today and he came home in 19.54 coming 11th overall. Well done Chris.

TOGHER 5KM

There was some really top class running here today with a top class field of competitors. Our first man home with a fine run was Fergal O'Meara having another of his class runs next came Morgan O'Regan who got a PB as did Fionan O'hAodain which was not easy on this tough course. Our ladies also did great with Margaret Jones taking 2nd O/45  (6th lady overall)and Joan Hough took 1st o/50. Bernie Twomey running on her home turf also had a fine run.

CLOYNE 4Km

Again a great crowd turned out in Cloyne on Sunday morning for the 4 Km. With almost 220 runners which included around ninety newcomers to the event shows that the crowds are growing constantly each month. We had a great crowd from the club here and our ladies again did very well with Helen Gilroy 2nd and Eileen Leahy 3rd and Vickie Cleary 4th. The battle for the mens placings was one of the highlights of the day with Paul Spiteri 14.49 just edging out Mike Cremin 14.50. Full results available at

BELGOOLY 4 Mile St Stephens Day

On what started as a bad day the weather changed just before the start and it turned into a lovely day for a run. Belgooly 4 Mile now known as the Dick Copithorne Memorial has been a hugely popular event on the calendar for many years. What made today really special for the club was to see there Donie and Kathleen O'Connell who have been doing this race for years and then to see some of our newer members also taking part. To top things off everyone had great runs from our prize winners to ladies like Shinead Ivers moving too fast for the camera to Michael McNamara having one of his best runs to date and beating Donie O'Connell into the process. Ian Kohler also had a fine run. Our prize winners came from all groups with Eileen Leahy again taking 1st Jnr Bernadette Twomey taking 3rd O/40 and not to be outdone Kathleen O'Connell taking 2nd O/60. Apologies to anyone I left out.

The Captain's Run

A fantastic morning for a run and a huge crowd turned out for the Captains Run. Great credit must go to Noel O'Regan for organising this and continuing with the tradition. Of course things would not be the same without Edmond's "Magic Bus" for the cuppa and rumour has it that Midleton Distillery want to buy the bottle of whiskey for its museum as its been at the race so long and never been used it has become a collectors item. All proceeds will go to Carrigtwohill SVP and the full amount will be announced shortly.
