I don't know what was in the water at the Xmas Party Friday night but it seems to have worked magic. In Newmarket 5km today Anna Doris came home 1st O/40 and Margaret Jones 2nd O/40 (yes she also was a prize winner yesterday same lady) and Marie Gillman running on her home turf knocked 10 sec's off yesterdays time on a much tougher course. Mike Cremin and Brian Harty both had great runs and also both got PBs .

A fantastic night was had by all who attended the Annual Xmas Party in Midleton Park Hotel on Friday night where the dancing continued well into the morning. In his address senior section club captain Noel O'Regan praised the achievements of club members where PBs were the order of the day and our members had won races at all distances from marathon to 3km and in between. A special mention was given to our two members who won individual All Ireland medals Helen Gilroy bronze medal in the Masters Track and Field Championships and Daniel Colbert who won All Ireland Gold in the u23 400h..They were both presented with special plaques to mark their achievements. He also highlighted to the great work being put in by the club coaches who catered for the various levels of athletes.
Shanagarry 5km Time
With one hundred and ten runners competing it was the biggest crowd in Shanagarry in many the year. We had a mighty crew from the club and the special "Well Done" must go to our beginners group who excelled themselves with some very respectable times. Special mention must also go to Birthday Boy Don Ryan who not only celebrated his birthday but a new PB as well. He seems to be collecting them at every race these days. And Margaret Jones who despite dancing until the early hours came home 2nd Lady in another brilliant run. All funds raised were donated to GOAL. Danny
