Shannonvale 10km
Well done to Shane Fitzgerald Foley who finished 3rd in the Shannpnvale 10km in a great time of 36.46 on Friday evening.
Cloyne 4Km
We had a fine crowd out from the club on Sunday morning supporting this local race in aid of a very worthy cause. Marian Aherne recovered from her excellent Cork Marathon exploits finished 3rd lady.
Picture shows Margaret Barry with her grandson Adam Perry. Another unique occasion where mother, daughter and grandson ran in the same race. Despite running a fine race rumour has it that Adam is much faster on the fingerboard of his guitar than on the road.
Some Went East And Some Went West and Midleton AC won prizes everywhere they went.
So many races to choose from we had people in various places. In the BHAA EMC race in oven we had three ladies who all did brilliant. Sheila Buckley 2nd Lady overall, Louise Barry 2nd O/35 and Marie Gillman 2nd O/50. Midleton Town Council Team were 1st Team Grade A ( Sheila and Louise). Well done ladies these are some fantastic results. (Thanks Louise Barry for the report)
Youghal 5Km
On a windy night in Youghal we saw some FANTATIC running with the top three men breaking the course record and the top woman also breaking the course record.
Once again we had some great running from our club members. Helen Gilroy was 4th Lady and 1st O/50 whilst Esther Murphy and Marian Aherne both took prizes in the O/45 cat. then Joan Hough and Amanda Cooney took the O/55 cat. and Kathleen O'Connell came 3rd O/60. Margaret Barry came 1st O/65. Our men also took lots of prizes with Tom Cody 1st O/60 and Donie O'Connell 3rd O/65. Ian Kohler 1st O/70. It was a really well organised event with no small children involved and great support from the crowds all the way round the town.

One for the Diary
Blackwater Aquathlon
On a glorious Wednesday evening 87 athletes participated in the annual Blackwater Aquathlon in Fermoy, organised by the Blackwater Triathlon Club: 750m swim up and down the Blackwater river followed by a 6km run.
Ger McLean kept his feet dry, run a fast time and together with his swimming partner James McMurty had a good relay result. André Brodkorb, Sally Drennan and Susan Fitzgerald were happy with their swim and run but noticed that … it doesn’t get easier... However, we can only recommend this well organized event and it was a welcome change from the road races.
Results are here:
