WEEKEND RUNAROUND

Ann Geary 1st Lady and Breaks The
Course Record

( Ann Geary receiving her prize from the great John Hartnett himself)

Ann Geary was the first Lady home in the John Hartnett 10Km in Ballyhooly Friday night and whilst she was doing that she also broke the course record. What a fantastic achievement for Ann and the club.
Morgan O'Regan also had a great run coming 8th man home. This is not by any means an easy course despite the advertising and the heat was unreal out there. Well done all.

Sinead Keavney 1st Lady and prizes
galore for the club

Another great night of running for the club with prizes galore all round. Sinead Keavney had a great run breaking twenty four minutes and taking 1st prize. Ger o’Regan had another fine run and once again got a PB. Ger and Dereck Aherne must be having a competition to see who can get the most PBs in a season.

Other prizewinners include Yvonne Fitzgerald 2nd O/40, Helen Gilroy 1st O/50, Amanda Cooney 1st O/55 and Margaret Barry 1st O/60. Our men also did very well with Mick Murphy 2nd O/45, Edmond O’Sullivan 1st O/55 and Donie O’Connell 1st O/65. Several other of our runners were placed but were outside the prizes.

Once again it was a really well organised event and deserving of more support from local clubs.

John Buckley 5Km

There was a massive crowd in the Marina on Tuesday evening for the Annual John Buckley 5Km which without a doubt is one of the most popular races on the circuit.
We had a great crowd there and our first man home was Edwin Cashman and our first lady was Sheila Buckley. The big news is that YES once again Derek Ahern got a new PB. This man is surely on fire.
