Help Required

Although this is not directly MAC running related I’m taking the liberty of using this group. The Midleton Cycling and Triathlon Club is holding the annual Hills of the Harbour sprint triathlon on Sunday, 30 June. We will be looking for lots of volunteers - kayakers, bike marshalls, run marshalls and more. All marshalls will receive a HOTH mug and a water bottle, a burger, coffee and a 99! And while I can’t guarantee it, the weather is nearly always glorious for the race! If anyone can help out please PM me. Sally Drennan

Waterford Half Marathon

Darren Ahern did the Half Marathon in Waterford in the brilliant time of 81 minutes Fantastic running Darren.

Also Nathalie O'Connell did the Half in Waterford on Sunday morning in the very hot conditions. She did the race despite being on anti biotics and steroids but did it for a very special personal cause. She did the amazing time of 1.43.27 finishing 27th Lady overall. Well done Nathalie see what happens when you listen to your coach.

Waterford Quarter Marathon

Bernie Twomey did this one Sunday morning in the heat adding another medal to her vast collection. Well done Ber.

COOLAGOWN 10KM

We had three runners here tonight on a lovely night for running over a tough and hilly course.

Track & Field Live Clonmel – Senior Mens 800m

Report from Rod Scanlan

Conditions were perfect for the races tonight. Clonmel AC have a fantastic setup there, a large playground, skateboard park, bike park, walking trail and the 400m track itself. If only we had this in Midleton.

The Senior 800m race, the final race of the night, had a very fast start with the first lap clocked in 57secs. I was struggling from the 200m mark and that final lap was torture. I had wanted to push on for a PB in the final 200m but the body was saying hell no. I finished with a time of 2:24. Well done to Clonmel AC for a very well organised event.

Fun Fact: 48 Clubs and 12 Counties Represented at this open Track & Field event.

It's really great to see some Midleton AC Senior athletes competing on the track once again Danny
