Seville Marathon

Not liking the weather forecast for the wekend Mike Dorney headed to the Seville Marathon today. Well done Mike Good choice

Cloyne 4km

After a weekend where we were spoiled for choices of races we had a weekend of cancellations. The weather on Sunday morning was both wet and windy but some very brave souls from the club braved the wind and rain and did Cloyne 4Km.

Our first lady home was Sinead Falvey who despite carrying an injury had a very fine run to be first Lady overall. We also saw a very fine run from Tim Hannon who was our first man home closely followed by John Ahern. A total of one hundred and forty seven ran which is well down on the usual high numbers.

Well done to all who ran.

IMRA Curragh Woods

Siobhan Williams writes "Great morning in the Curragh. The photos show us before & after the event. The weather was kind to us but underfoot the damage was already done! Very muddy, slippy & wet. Energising & uplifting running, had almost forgotten the joy of it".

WEEKEND RUNAROUND

Tommy Ryan Eagle 5 Mile Carrigaline

This took place on the tradition course on Sunday morning in very good conditions. Our first runner home was Mark Cronin in a fine run earning himself a new PB. Since Mark started wearing the Midleton AC singlet he has been getting PBs in nearly every race. There is a lesson there to be learned. Not to be outdone club captain Ger O'Regan also had an excellent run to take 2nd O/55 prize. Christopher McCarthy a regular at this race had another great run also.

Delisha Duran also had a very fine run clocking 33.27 and coming 6th lady home. Eimear O'Mullane fresh from stewarding at yesterdays Parkrun also had a fine run. A total of two hundred and eighty ran. Thanks to Eagle AC for a great day as always.

Senior Section Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Senior Section takes place in MyPlace at 8pm on Tuesday 25th Feburary. Please come along if at all possible. You will NOT get a job unless you want one but your opinion is important to us.

The full club Juvenile and Senior takes place on 19th March at 8pm in MyPlace. All registered members welcome.

KILLEAGH 4 Mile

The Killeagh 4 Mile takes place next Sunday. People have been asking how come Cloyne 4Km is allowed to change its date and be on the same day.

The simple answer is Cloyne is not an Athletics Ireland permitted race and can do as it wishes as to when it is held. Where as Killeagh 4Mile has an Athletics Ireland permit and another Athletics Ireland race would not be allowed within twenty miles of it on the same day.

Gap Of Dunloe Half Marathon

Club member Loveness Hegarty did the Gap Of Dunloe Half Marathon today. She says "it was definitely the hardest run she ever did" Well done Loveness great to see you back running well again.

Run The Banner 6Km Kilnaboy Co Clare

Well done to Michael Beirne who who got a PB 26.36 earning him 1st O/60. The race was in Kilnaboy Co Clare home of the famous Kilnaboy 10 Mile where Midleton AC took a bus load to for many years when it was part of the Munster John Buckley series.
