Friday evening saw the Kinsale 5 Mile take place and as usual we had some athletes there and all had very fine runs with senior section Captain Ger O'Regan outdoing his fine run of last year to come home in 31.31 followed by John Cashman in 32.54. Our ladies too had great runs with Nicole Versluijs doing 41.53, Margaret Twohig Anglin 46.46 and Maura Fitzgerald 29.52.

A total of 738 finished the race.

Ballynoe 5Km

Lots Of Prizes For The Ladies

Midleton AC Prizewinners

A fantastic evening of racing was held in Ballynoe on Thursday evening. Organised by St Catherine's AC  It was classic road racing with only one thousand of a second between first and second. The camera showed Conor McCauley beating Tony Forrestal but the chip time had Tony ahead by one thousand of a second. Likewise for the team prize both Leevale  AC and East Cork AC were on 21 points but Leevale AC won on the countback.

Midleton AC were not to be outdone with Katie Hennessy once again taking 1st Jnr F and then our master Ladies excelled themselves with Brigid Ryan 1st O/50, Christine Murphy 1st O/55 and Catriona McGregor 1st O/60.

Our first man home was Conor Cronin with another great run coming home sub 20 on a tough hilly course and our first female was Katie Hennessy. Well done all who ran and supported .

Clogheen 5km

The great Neilus Aherne was 1st O/65 in Clogheen on Thursday evening

Best of luck to Dinny McLean running in the 800m in the National Senior Championships this weekend.

Churchtown South 4 Mile

This surely must be one of the best organised races around and definitely one of the best post race spreads in the county. There was some serious racing involved also with a classic finish in the men's race resulting in a new course record.

We had a great crew from the club both running and supporting and we had some success also with Christine Murphy 1st O/55 ("there is life in the old dog yet" her words not mine) and Caitriona McGregor 1st O/60.Whilst Katie Hennessy got 1st Junior.

Several of our runners got TOP  25 T Shirts Rosie Young, Brigid Ryan Katie Hennessy and Sadhbh Cronin. Tim Hannon was our first man home got a T Shirt also.

Well done to all who ran and a special well done to Conor and his Churchtown South support crew for organising another brilliant night.

Who said praying doesn't help Catriona 1st O/60 Brigid in Top 25
