WEEKEND RUNAROUND

SUPPORT LOCAL RACES

Cloyne 4Km




Sunday morning saw the Cloyne 4Km take place in very warm conditions for racing. We had a great crowd there supporting this very worthy cause. It was very well organised with a wonderful spread after.

Our first runner home was Mark Cronin in a spectacular finish with a great sprint which saw him putting his speed to the test and winning out to take 1st M45. Our first Lady home running on her own doorstep was Nathalie O'Connell having another great run to take 3rd F35.

Other placed athletes from the club were

Cloyne 4 Km in aid of Marymount Sunday morning at 9.30

Even if you are not running you can come and support and there will be a donation box there to contribute to also.

This race has an Athletics Ireland permit.


Coming up on 24th July Churchtown South 4 Mile another great local race.




TRACTON 4 Mile





We had five runners here on Friday evening over a tough hilly 4 Mile course. Ger O'Regan getting back where he belongs on the podium taking 2nd O/55 in 25.55. 

Next came the new kid on the block Conor Cronin with a fine 26.20 followed by John Cashman in 27.11. Delisha Duran our only lady there came home in 28.01 Neilus Aherne made up the quintet in 28.56.









 






We had a great night at the Cork City Sports where out athletes excelled themselves once again. Aisling Groarke was the first to claim victory taking GOLD in the girls u13 600m with a stunning run. In the 1500 Junior men Odhran O'Sullivan had an equally stunning run to take GOLD also in a race he came 2nd in last year. Matthew O'Mahony had a fine run here also. In the Pole Vault Meabh Corkery took GOLD once again something she is getting used to at this stage. Katie Hennessy also had a fine run in the Junior Women 800m. It was a wonderful evening of racing and superbly organised as always.
