WEEKEND RUNAROUND
TRAINING UPDATES
Monday night training continues on the Cricket Pitch where those that wish can continue to train there whilst the rest of us will begin out hill sessions in the usual spot. We will meet at the field and jog/run out to the hill.
Hill sessions are a very important part of any athletes preparations.
WEDNESDAY SESSIONS
The Wednesday evening sessions with Edmond will resume outside the Co Op Stores Market Green on Wednesday 17th September. In the meantime if anyone want to meet up on Wednesdays at 6.30 as some are doing all ready they are welcome.
Our new C2 5K is starting next Wednesday so please pass the word to anyone you think might be interested. The first session is free.
Dungarvan Greenway Half Marathon
We had two runners here today in what were not very nice conditions for running. Linda Curtin had a fine run coming home in 1.63.52 and coming 12 F50. Whilst Amanda Cooney had her usual very solid run coming 6th F60. Well done ladies especially in such horrific conditions
East Cork Track Championships
Silver Team for Midleton AC and
Individual Silver Lady for Sinead Falvey
Wednesday evening saw some great racing at the MTU track where our Mixed Team came away with the Silver Medals having narrowly lost out to a team half their age.
Sinead Falvey won individual Silver having ran a great race and Nathalie O'Connell her first time running track came a very close 4th Lady.
Our men's team of Rod Scanlan, Ger O'Regan and Christopher McCarthy all ran great races with Rod unfortunately developing a calf injury with three laps to go he gallantly battled on for the sake of the team.
The overall team prize's were decided on the combination of both men's and women's times.
So very proud of these teams who gave their all for the sake of our club Well done all.
