NB BHAA Race next Wednesday POSTPONED
Youghal 10Km and Half Marathon
Three 1st's For Midleton AC
On an ideal Sunday morning for running the Youghal 10Km and Half Marathon took place. We had a good number of runners there mainly in the 10Km where the club took three category 1st Prizes. John Cashman had a great run to take a very competitive 1st O/60 and Joe Power took 1st O/65. Whilst Martha McNamara was back on the podium taking 1st O/65 Lady. We also saw some class running from Tim Hannon our first man home with a PB and showing his weekly high mileage is paying dividends. Our first lady and just outside the prizes was Brigid Ryan.
In the half Marathon we had Don McDonald closely followed by Tony Murray and our first and only lady was Amanda Cooney.
Well done Youghal AC on the great organising of this superb event.

BHAA Sterling 5Km
Once upon a time this was the BHAA race of the year the prizes were good and plentiful (still are) and the afters were fantastic with even a special section for kids. Now with cutbacks its just another race but still a very good one over a tough and honest course.
We had a good number there and young Katie Hennessy had another brilliant run to be our first lady home finishing 4th Lady overall and getting s prize and our first man was Andre Brodkorb.
We had prize winners there the great Neilus Aherne was there to take 3rd O/65. Katie Hennesy 4th Lady and Amanda Cooney 1st O/60.
Our mens team of Andre Brodkorb and Edmond O'Sullivan took 1st Team in Grade C.
