WEEKLY RUNAROUND

Churchtown National School 5Km

Well done to club member Rebecca Leane who finished 2nd Lady in the Churchtown NS 5Km in Doneraile Park on Sunday. The race was won by Kealey Tideswell a former winner of the Midleton 5 Mile.

 

Novice B County Championships

3rd Place and Bronze Medal for Sinead Falvey

We had a team of six ladies competing in Curraheen on Sunday in the Novice B County Championships where each and every one of them ran their hearts out to finish a close 4th team. Sinead Falvey ran a brilliant race to claim the Bronze medal beaten only by two girls half her age.

 All our ladies really ran well over a very muddy course. Emma Bell running with the Seniors for the first time and just back from injury made a great addition to the team ran a superbly clever race picking runners off all the time. 

All our other ladies Nathalie, Eileen , Meadhbh and Brigid ran their best races of the year to finish the season on a high.

Nielus Ahern our only male representative ran his usual solid strong race,

Well done to Togher AC who organised a great day of racing.

We survived!!

Logistics were crazy to get to the start line, we left the hotel at 5:45 am and returned 12 hrs later!!!

The sun shone all day, so lucky as we couldn’t land in JFK on Thurs night due to wind and rain, diverted to Hartford to refuel but flew to JFK later that night!!

The course was tough and long !!! An experience!!
