Valencia Bound
Our very best wishes go to Derek Ahern, Mark Cronin, Frances Maunsell, Tim Hannon and Ger O'Regan who will compete under sunny skies on Sunday at the Valencia Marathon. All five have put in huge work in training and are in great shape - best of luck lads!
Women In Sport
A fun event was organised on Saturday by Nathalie O'Connell our Women In Sport Officer who organised for as many as possible of the ladies in our club to run the Park Run 5km wearing pink and to go for coffee/tea in Pan after and chat and discuss the needs of the ladies in the club. A great crowd attended this very successful event the first of hopefully many. Well done Nathalie and all who attended.
Waterford Half Marathon
Over 2,000 runners crossed the Finish line in Waterford on Saturday last in the annual Waterford AC Half Marathon, with 17 wearing the Midleton singlet.
Our first runner home was John Aherne who had a storming run in a superb time of 1hour 25 minutes 27 seconds. Next home was John Cashman 1:32:31. Leading lady was Anna Doris in 1:43:05. Well done to all our runners. Conditions were good for what was a very well organized race - (see accompanying pictures)
Next big road race across the county bounds is the Dungarvan 10 miler - entries now open.
Munster Masters Cross Country
Back to Co Waterford to Tramore on Sunday for the Masters Cross Country where we once again did very well with Sinead Falvey coming 3rd Overall and also coming 3rd O/40.
Neilus Ahern again excelled in coming 3rd O/65 and getting Silver on the Cork Team. Edmond O'Sulliven came 4th O/60 and Andre Brodkorb also had a fine run. Unfortunately we were short one for the Men's Team.
