WEEKEND RUNAROUND

TRAINING

Training will continue on the Hockey Pitch for the month of April and this Monday we will be joined by the great Neilus Aherne with his four European Championship medals.

We will also be having our race launch so please wear your club jackets and colours. All welcome even if not training.

Cobh 10 Mile

Sunday morning saw the hills of Cobh being taken on for the Cobh 10. It was a lovely morning and we had a number of runners there as always and also quite a few pacers. Well done Mark, Ger and Tim our pacers and to all who ran. 

Congrats also to Helen Gilroy 2nd O/60 and Amanda Cooney 4th O/65.

East Cork Road Racing Championships 

Silver and Bronze Team Medals

On Thursday evening which was a lovely evening for running but cold for supporters we saw the East Cork Road Racing Championships take place in Ballynoe as usual. What was unusual was they took place two weeks earlier than usual.

Our  Ladies Team had just the required number of three runners Eileen Leahy, Louise Barry and Christine Murphy. All ran really well giving it their all with a tremendous effort from Christine when urged to pass the lady in front of her she did and thus helped us to the Silver Medal position by a single point. "Every place counts". Well done ladies ye did us proud as always.

Our men were equally impressive and were led home by Mark Cronin followed by Kieran Curtin, Tim Hannon, Christopher McCarthy, John Kenny and Declan Dorgan. All ran well and earned themselves the Bronze team medals.
