Firstly a sincere word of congratulations to all who took part in Monday's Cork City Marathon. It was of course a very special day for those who covered the 26.2 mile distance for the first time. Our joint P.R.O Peter Gunning was was among the 'marathon veterans' and he will review the action in our next club news update at the weekend.

In the meantime, here's just a brief outline of race dates -

No action this week, so a big gathering is expected when the local scene resumes in Glanmire next week. As you can see there is a host of races on the weekend after next.

Tuesday June 14th - Glanmire 4 Mile - 8pm
Friday June 17th - Clashmore 5 Mile - 8pm
Friday June 17th - Bilboa (county Limerick) 10K - 8pm
Friday June 17th - Inniscarra 4 Mile - 8pm (this race was previously held in November as a BHAA race)
Saturday June 18th - Ballyclough 5K - time to be confirmed
Sunday June19th - Dunmanway 10K - 11am
Thursday June 23rd - Shanagarry 5 Mile - 8pm
Friday June 24th - Dromana 5 Mile (county Waterford) - 8pm
Friday June 24th - Courtmacsherry 10K - time to be confirmed
Thursday June 30th - Daniel Kingston Memorial 5K - Macroom - 8pm (see below)
Friday July 1st - Ballinscarthy 10K - 8pm

Message from organisers of Daniel Kingston Memorial 5K

Given the huge numbers (740 people) that came to run in Macroom in memory of Daniel last year, I am pleased to announce the second Daniel Kingston Memorial 5KM Race.

Registration - Closes at 7:45 PM on the 30th June (Macroom Sports Complex).
Price - €5 for BHAA members and €8 for non BHAA members
Refreshments - served in Macroom Sports complex afterwards
