Marathon Sunday
The Agony and The Ecstasy

Dublin is done and dusted now and has been trashed and re trashed so there is not much for me to say except well done do all. A huge thanks to all our supporters who travelled up in droves at their own expense to support our club. Facebook messages and e mails have been coming in all night and day from people thanking us for our support. There is NO other club in East Cork or Cork for that matter that has better supporters and the thing is we support all runners from whatever club or group. Some of the photos below show our support for our near neighbours.
Apologies to any and all I missed but between calls and tracking runners it was impossible to get everyone. Please send me in any photos etc. that anyone has.

The "Boys Are Back In Town"

Our first runner home Eugene McCarthy

" The Family That Runs Together" Shane with his Mam Rose and brother All ran the marathon

David with his No 2 supporter he left No 1 at home.

" I am going to knock twenty five minutes off my PB or bust" and YES he did a brilliant 3.25 and smiling as always.

Gillian Bransfield who made a fantastic debut in the marathon especially after missing out on a lot of training due to injury. I was so delighted to see her doing so well I missed out on other photos of her.

Another super supporter.

The brother of a well know Midleton AC athlete. Answers on a postcard please.

I think she said "Feck off Dan"

After a 200m sprint I managed to get Kevin at last.

 Helping the neighbours home.

 Midleton colours ???

 Come on "The Village"

Picture shows "Supporters Of The Day" Edwin Cashman and his son Lewis who travelled up especially and were there to support the fastest and the slower runners all the way home spending hours on the road.
People like these make our club truly great.

Real Superstars
Our "Husband and Wife Teams" Paul and Sile.
Well done both of ye but sorry I have no picture of Helen and Stephen Gilroy our second husband and wife team.

Late entries.

"Come on guys ye can catch him." Claire Fitzgerald in coaching mode.

"No wonder he won" with coaching from Midleton AC

Don't ASK.

Reports in from Frankfurt is that the three lads had fine runs still awaiting photos but all reports seem a bit like Dublin the good and the not as good as expected but still brilliant.

DUBLIN and FRANKFURT

It seems strange writing Sunday instead of Monday but the day is changed but not the distance. There are almost twenty thousand runners entered and that is a massive increase on last year.

We as always have a fine crew heading off and we wish them and everyone running it the very best. Our declared runners for Dublin are Gillian Bransfield, Shane Foley, Helen Gilroy, Tim Hannon, Sean Keane, Alan Kelleher, Paul Kearns, Sile Kearns, Gerard McLean, Eugene McCarthy,  Francis Maunsell, Esther Murphy, Kevin Moran, David Moynihan, Mick Murphy, Mary O’Keeffe, Fionan O’hAodain, Morgan O’Regan, Bernie Twomey.

Also we have a crew returning to the scene of previous crimes in Frankfurt where we cleaned up the last time we went there needing a trailer under the guidance of Noel O’Regan to carry all the prizes we won. This time we have three athletes doing the marathon Kevin Morrison, Fergal O’Meara and Sean O’Sullivan and hopefully they will be as successful this time.

For those of you interested in tracking the runners here are some links.
