Neilus Wins Munster Title In His First Attempt

The great Neilus Aherne went out today to try something he had never done before and that was to run indoors on the boards. He did it in style and claimed GOLD in winning the O/60 Munster title in a great time of 11.04. Well done Neilus what a great start to the new year.


FMC 6Km Littleisland

Another great mornings running from the club at the very popular FMC 6Km in Littleisland this Sunday morning.With some fine results for the club. Ann Geary 1st O/35 and Marie Gillman 2nd O/50. Joan McCarthy took 3rd O/55 and Kathleen O’Connell 3rd O/60 and her husband Donie once again took 2nd O/60. Our Ladies Team of Midleton Twn Council took 1ct in Grade C with Shelia Buckley and Kathleen O’Connell. Well done all















 



The big local race this weekend is the FMC 4Mile in Littleisland. Full details are on the BHAA website and please note the change of course. This is the first Sunday morning road race of the year so there is always a huge crowd at it also note you must be registered with BHAA for 2017 to be eligible for prizes.

Munster Senior and Master Indoor Championships

Our man Neilus Aherne will be taking part in these on Sunday and we wish him the very best. This will be the first time on the boards for Neilus and remember its a two hundred meter track and as he says himself he hopes he doesn't get dizzy.

Those of you using what we call the Midleton 5 for training please be careful as there are a lot of new small potholes out there and one could easily trip and fall if one was not careful.


MEMBERSHIP

Membership is now due for 2017 and can be paid at training on Monday or Wednesday evenings. The fee remains at the great value of seventy euro. Please come a little early if registering in order to avoid missing out on training time also if possible bring the exact amount.



C2 5K

We started our new C2 5K group last Wednesday evening with a great crowd of enthusiastic beginners. We still have room for a few more so come along or contact us if you are interested. It is the best value around and the only session around that has both male and female qualified coaches who have years of experience between them in guiding and helping people to learn to run. We are open to all ages from eighteen to eighty. Please pass the word around.
