WEEKEND RUNAROUND

C2 5k
It's That Time Of Year Again

A new Couch to 5km group will be starting in September due to many requests and enquiries we have been receiving. So give yourself an early "Christmas Present" and come along.
Just imagine what shape you will be by Christmas and how good you will feel having run your first 5Km.

This is designed for total beginners or those just starting to learn to run. You will be helped by very experienced coaches who have trained thousands of people around Midleton and East Cork to run.

Midleton AC is an Athletics Ireland affiliated club and therefore you will be fully insured whilst training with the club. (You don’t drive without insurance so why run without insurance. )

We also cater for athletes of all levels from five minute milers to ten/ twelve minute milers and beyond. You will be made feel welcome whatever level you are at and can be sure to find fellow runners at your level and make lots of new friends. You will get advice from those who have experience of all levels of running from fun running to national and international levels.
We are not in this for the money only for the love of running and of athletics.

New members are welcome at any time and we guarantee we are the best value around at 50 Euro for six months coaching from qualified male and female coaches.
If interested please call 0872403940 or email mdtacinfo@gmail.com  as can be seen below there is a fantastic social side to the club also plus national and international trips away etc.

Ironman Dublin

On near perfect conditions for the swim and bike, with rain appearing only towards the end of the run Midleton AC members and friends all did so well in the Ironman 70.3 Dublin. Some achievement for all!
( Thanks to Louise Barry for report and photos)

Clonmel

Pictures show Margaret Jones and No1 supporter Bernie Twomey (Edwin Cashman please note I am counting the shouts ) in Clonmel today where Margaret Jones ran 1.41.29 (aiming for 1.50) which is brilliant especially after a well deserved break shows she is well on track for the cross country season coming up shortly (no pressure Mags) and whilst others went to the pub to celebrate Margaret and Bernie went to St Patrick's Well to bath their tired feet and pray for miracles next time out. Amanda Cooney is in no need of miracles she had another great "solid as a rock" run. Well done all.

KEY FOUND

A house key was found on the Midleton 5 mile route this morning and no doubt was lost by a runner or a cyclist. So please pass the word around . It can be claimed by ringing 0872403940.

Liscarrol 10Km

Some very fine running last Friday evening from club member Mike Cremin when he clocked 40.10 in the 10Km and finished 18th overall. Well done Mike.

2. True to our tradition, Midleton AC will be making  a donation to a local charity from our race  proceeds. Our chosen charity for 2017 is the Time for Tilara charity.
We will be making the presentation next Monday at training at 6pm and would love  to see as many possible athletes there as possible for a short presentation and photo.
