Cross Country 17th Sept
Reminder that the East Cork cross country championships for seniors and masters takes place on Sunday, 17 September in Ballynoe.
Everyone in the club is eligible to run in this one and it is well worth doing if you have any interest in running cross country this year.
Unlike for other cross country races, I do not have to get the entry in a week or more in advance. However, this year there is an entry form to be filled out which must be handed in on the day. To facilitate this, could anyone planning to run, kindly let me know this week so that I will have the form ready on the day.
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Sally Drennan

Five Hundred and fifty two runners took part in this race Saturday evening. We had a fine crew from the club. Everyone ran very well many doing much better than expected. We had a winner in Margaret Jones who took first prize in her cat. Well done Margaret its great to see you back on the podium once again. Whilst a lady well used to winning prizes Amanda Cooney took 2nd O/55. Other ladies who had great runs were Marian Aherne, Claire Parker, Karen Knowles and Caroline Cashman.
St Luke Home 5Km
A total of five hundred and ten runners turned out on Thursday evening to support this race and a very worthy cause.
Our club was very well represented and as always we have some really fine runs. Our first man home was Fionan O'hAodain who did 18.17 ( a PB by 22 seconds) followed by Mick Murphy who did 18.49.
Helen Gilroy had a great run holding off some very serious competition to finish in 19.42 unfortunately there was not an O/50 prize for her to take despite the fast time.
It was great to see Vicki Spiteri back in action after the birth of her baby and like her husband Paul she is flying. Others who had great runs were Sheila Buckley, Marie Gillman, Mick Murphy, Christopher McCarthy, Declan Dorgan, Chris Dowdall. Apologies if I missed anyone.
