WEEKEND RUNAROUND

Don't forget this great race next Thursday evening. Always a great night and it has an Athletics Ireland permit with an accurately measured ( by Jones Counter) course. Well worth supporting.
and next week we have the same in Garryvoe.

Gas Networks Ireland 5Km

After a mix up finally the results of the Gas Networks Ireland 5km which took place last Wednesday evening have been sorted out. It appears that over fifty duplicate numbers were issue and fair dues to BHAA they seem to have rectified the problem. We had a few among the prize winners Sheila Buckley 2nd O/35 in the ladies and Edmond O'Sullivan 2nd O/55, Neilus Aherne 2nd O/60 in the men.

Killkee 10Km

Have Legs Will Travel

Neilus Aherne was on the road again. This time to the Killkee 10Km on Saturday where he finished 10th overall. Well done once again Neilus.

Bere Island and Glengarriff Park Run

As well as the good weather there must be a certain kind of madness in the air also because as Margaret Jones reports that whilst on the way to races in Bere Island they decided to stop off and run the 5Km Park Run in Glengarriff where she finished 4th Lady.
Then onwards to Bere Island where Gillian Bransfield was once again in the prizewinners finishing 2nd Lady in the 5Km and Margaret decided to do the 10Km which was a mega tough course and where she finished 4th overall and 1st vet.. Well done to all the crew.

Youghal 5Km

Siobhan Ó Leary 3rd Overall

So we must be doing something right.

Caroline Cashman continues to improve with another PB whilst Siobhan Ó Leary had her first podium finish coming 3rd overall lady. Christine Murphy 3rd O/45, Marie Gillman 1st O/55 Noreen O'Riordan 3rd O/55, Joan Hough 1st O/60 and Joan McCarthy 2ndO/60.

Coachford 5Mile

We had one runners here tonight . Bernie Twomey and Bernie reports of a tough race with lots of challenging hills but the views of the Lee Valley made up for them.
There was a large crowd there and it was for a very worthy cause for a local man who was paralyzed after falling off a ladder. She was very well pleased with her time of 43.29. Very well done Bernie and she "highly recommends" the race.
