Guard Of Honour

The club has been asked to provide a Guard Of Honour for the funeral of Mary Smith. The idea is we form a line along the road as the cortege passes through Ballinacurra on its way to the funeral mass in Togher. We propose to meet at Jacko’s Car Park in Ballinacurra and then form a socially distanced line. It is suggested we meet around 10.45am on Wednesday 28th.

We ask as many as possible to attend and please wear your club colours. I know many of you will be working but those that can please come along.

PS If there is any change of time I will post it here on Wednesday Danny

It is with very deep regret that I wish to inform the club members of the untimely passing of former club member Mary Smith,

Mary is the wife of current member Kevin Smith whom many of you know. Mary was a very popular and active member of the club for many years and was a regular at many of our social functions and races.

The club offers its sincere condolences to Kevin and their daughter Gabrielle on the loss of a beloved wife and mother. May she rest in peace.

TRAINING

Anyone looking for this weeks sessions please give me a call or text 0872403940 or contact Donie at 0862092795. Please abide by the HSE rules and also a big thank you to all those who abided by them over the weekend racing. It was not easy having to change routes and lose running buddies but ye did the club proud.

Keep it up and Stay Safe. Danny

Virtual Dublin

Bernie Does The Half

Bernie Twomey did the Half on Monday morning in keeping with the tradition of Dublin being run on the Monday. Its only been Sunday the last few years. She had a fine run and was aided along the way by "Believe It Or Not" the superwoman that is Margaret Jones. Yes the same woman that did the marathon only yesterday.

Morgan and Mick

Well done also to Morgan O'Regan and Mick Murphy who did the Virtual Marathon as a training and came home in 3.28 .

Michelle does her Virtual 10Km

Well done to Michelle Dorney who completed her Virtual 10Km assisted by the best Water Boy in the world.

Mark and Mags

Mark Walsh and Margaret Jones complete the Virtual Marathon on Sunday morning. Starting at 7.30 in Market Green they both had great runs and were well supported. It was tough on the Support Crew too as they could only cheer them on and not give the usual "run along with them" support that Claire and her gallant crew usually give and are renown for but the cheering helped compensate.

The man behind in blue was doing Dublin too and was thankful for our support.

Early morning lone supporter.

We may not be in Dublin but we still got the clappers.

The smiles say it all.

Forty Marathons between them.

A marathon a day. Mary yesterday Mark today.

Collette PB By 15 Minutes

Colette Dalton had a fantastic run in the Virtual Half Marathon and knocked 15 minutes off her PB. Colette is an example of how putting in the hard work pays off. One can see the effort she puts in on our Monday evenings training all Summer and Autumn and its wonderful to see it paying dividends.

 Job well done

Colette with her support crew.

Amsterdam Ladies

Well done to Sheila Bulman and Annette Fitzgerald who completed the Virtual Amsterdam Half Marathon today.

Well done to Dan Twohig who completed the Half Marathon on Saturday and got himself a PB. Congrats Dan.

Mary B Walsh completes her 20th Marathon

A huge well done to Mary B Walsh who complete her 20th today. Mary did her first Dublin Marathon in 2005 on an extremely wet day and was lucky today that the weather was much more suitable for running despite the odd shower. Congratulations Mary on your success and here's to twenty more.

See below for more information on Mary's very worthy cause.

Linda Curtin First Midleton AC Lady Home

Well done to Linda Curtin who completed the Virtual Dublin City Marathon on Thursday making her the first Midleton AC athlete to complete the race. Linda completed the 26.2 miles on her own making it an extra hard event. Well done Linda.

We have several other athletes doing it over the weekend and we wish them all the very best and hope to keep ye updated. So runners whatever distance send your photo's and reports in please. 0872403940.

Please all abide by the rules and regulations and stay safe. I have already seen groups out running together(not from our club) please do not be tempted to copy them.
