Great Night In Ballynoe @
East Cork Road Racing Championships
Ladies individual Silver for Sinead Falvey
Team Silver for our Ladies
Team Bronze for our Men
Despite the awful weather we had a great night at the East Cork Road Racing Championships in Ballynoe on Thursday evening. Sinead Falvey was amongst the individual winners taking 2nd Lady and the Silver medal. Our ladies team had great runs also with scoring members Dee Duran, Kathleen Ryan and Eileen Leahy losing out on Gold by just one single point ( who is always saying every place counts) the same as last year. The rest of the team was made up of Claire Fitzgerald, Brigid Ryan and Christine Murphy with each and every one giving their all to claim the Silver.
Our men also had great runs claiming 3rd Team and the BRONZE medals. Scoring members were Mark Cronin, John Hennessy, Declan Dorgan and Kieran Curtin The team was also made up of Leonard Healy, David Curtin and Martin Neylon.
The races were very well organised as always. Big thanks to all who ran and to those who supported.
Only A Week To Go

Cork Graded League MTU Track
Here we had Rod Scanlan and Christopher McCarthy appearing.
Chris did the 200m and finished 6th and he also did the long jump. He had never done either before and these races are an ideal opportunity to try track and field for the first time.
Rod reports here.
Finished the 800m with 2:16 in the Cork County League day 1 in MTU. There was about 24 in total, a mix of junior, senior and a Masters athletes so they split us into 3 graded races based on estimated finish times. I went off in the 2nd heat and finished 4th. This was my 6th 800m race in the last 11 months and first time I didn't get a pb so disappointed not to break 2:13. Munster Championships up next on the 24th/25th May.
Ross Surf Turf n Tar
Margaret Twohig and Maire Walsh did this on Saturday morning which was a great day for such an event.
3rd Place for Rosie Young
Rosie Young came 3rd Lady overall in the Kilflynn 10km on Saturday morning on a very tough hilly course
Well done Rosie.
