SATURDAY MORNING COFFEE IN BALLYCOTTON
Many of you are no doubt planning a pre race run in Ballycotton on Saturday morning - You might consider making a date at The Inn By The Harbour for an 'after run cuppa'. Maria Walsh (niece of John Walsh) a medical student at UCC is hosting a coffee morning in aid of a very good cause.
We had great fun and success with our pre marathon Breakfast so Lets make it a Pre Ballycotton Coffee A Coffee Morning, organised by local fourth-year UCC medical student Maria Walsh, will take place on Saturday next (February 25) at The Inn By the Harbour, Ballycotton, from 11am onwards. All funds raised will go to St Luke's Mission Hospital in Zambia, as part of the Surgeon Noonan Society fundraising. Surgeon Noonan Society is run by fourth year UCC medical students. This year they are travelling to hospitals in Zambia, Ghana, Malawi and Tanzania to carry out four-week placements. All money raised by the Surgeon Noonan Society goes to providing medical aid in the hospitals the students visit; they pay for all their own flights and living expenses while out there. St Luke's Mission Hospital is located in Mpanshya, Zambia. It was founded in 1964 and there are currently four doctors working in the hospital, along with nurses, midwives and other medical staff.
