Hi All

A reminder that the UCC 10K Road Race has an 11am start in Sunday's Well on Sunday next - entries will be taken at the Westgate Building (beyond the Pink Clinic) on the Western Road.

Also we are still looking for a volunteer to collect the Tuesday subscription for April, beginning next week 6.55pm to 7.10pm.. Can you assist or share the job with a fellow member?
Caitlin O'Mahony has kindly offered to collect on Mondays during April, beginning on Monday next, which incidentally will be our last night at Midleton College. There will be no training on Easter Monday - training will resume again at the new time of 6.30pm to 7.30pm at Midleton CBS Pitch on April 16th.

There is another addition to the local calendar, which has been forwarded to me by club colleague Susan Delaney

On Sunday April 29th, Gaelscoil Ui Drisceoil in
Dunkettle ,Glanmire will be holding their first 5 mile
road race and 2 mile Fun Run/Walk to raise funds for
their magnificent Irish school.

Finally, please see the following update from the Cork City Marathon office.
===================================================================
Hi all, from an unseasonably warm and sunny Cork!
Preparations are in full flow for this year’s Cork City Marathon on 4th June and entries are flying in. This is really a quick email to remind you that the entry fees increase this Sunday, but we’ll also take this opportunity to briefly update you on this year’s event.
Entry
The cost of entry for the marathon, half marathon and team relay increases by €10 this Sunday, 1st April.
The cheapest way to enter is online, where you’ll find details of entry fees. You can download a copy of the entry form and post that back to us if you’d prefer, or contact us if you need a copy posted to you.
Concession fees are still available for all unwaged but you must enter using a hard copy of the entry form.
Please remember that there are no refunds or transfers from one event to another, and entry can only be deferred to 2013 on submission of a valid medical certificate.
Marathon, Half Marathon and Team Relay
The marathon, half marathon and team relay take place as last year and on the same courses. The marathon and relay start on 9am on St Patrick’s Street. The start time for the half marathon will be confirmed shortly. Last year, the start time was 11am – we’re hoping to start a bit earlier this year.
Inter-Services Championships
This year, we’ve introduced an Inter-Services Championships. It’s an event within the marathon and team relay for uniformed service personnel, from Ambulance and Fire services to Nurses, GardaĆ and the Postal service.
Info. at Cork City Marathon Inter-Services Championships
Youth Team Relay
There’s also a Youth Team Relay this year for participants 16 years and over. It’s for teams of 5 members, at least one of whom must be aged 18 or over. Cost of entry is €60 per team. Because parental consent is required for this event, you’ll need to contact us for entry forms.
Sponsors Notes
Maher’s Sports have a special 10% discount online or in-store, as part of their associate sponsorship of this year’s Cork City Marathon. Press release and details of this year’s marathon and half-marathon shirts due for release very soon!
That’s it for now.
Safe running!
