Masters Cross Country in Conna
Midleton Ladies 1st O/45 TEAM
A Conna morning
Runners in the mist
Joan, Helen Sally.
Martha telling the other teams where to go.
Joan, Martha, Marie ,Margaret Twohig,Margaret Jones, Helen and Sally
Andre, Mike Eugene and John.
A certain well known dancers legs testing out how its feels to dance on a cow pat.
Well done to all our crew who wore the club colours with pride today and did our club proud.
To those who came out for the first time running cross country and to those who led by example. A big thanks to Helen Gilroy who organised all the entries and again still managed a great run and also to our cross country newcomers Margaret Twohig (a great run despite having run 6/7miles yesterday) and Martha McNamara solid as always and our men Andre Brodkorb, Eugene McCarthy and Mark O'Reilly all new comers to the event.
Our experienced cross country runners like Sally Drennan, Helen Gilroy and Joan Hough had fantastic runs and Margaret Jones, Marie Gilman showed how well they have taken to the event. Martha McNamara and Margaret Twohig showed they have great potential and will definitely continue to improve with every race. Cross country is so much a team event and
everyone out there today continued to fight for every positionand help their teams to victory.
Our men also had great runs. Again many doing it for the first time but those that had the experience of some previous races like Mike Murphy who continues to improve with every race and John Cashman and Barry Williams who both seem like natural cross country runners whilst Kevin Moran already showed the benefits of having run last weekend
The morning started foggy and misty but it was one of those beautiful mornings to go out running and watch the fog rise over the hills of Conna. Of course we will always have the "runners on the ditch" giving out about cross country but its a proven fact that it benefits all runners and is recommended by all serious coaches.
S0 Now you still have a chance to contact Helen tonight and register for next weeks races.
RESULTS
Midleton Ladies 1st O/45 TEAM {Sally Drennan,Margaret Jones and Helen Gilroy} and Sally Drennan 3rd O/45 and Joan Hough 1st O/55.
All our other runners were very well placed too,
