Presentations were also made to Helen McSweeney and Maura Leahy who both stepped down from the committee after many years of service. Speaking in a tribute to the retiring sisters Danny McCarthy said both Maura and Helen were responsible for the rejuvenation of the Juvenile Section of the club that when they came on board thirteen years ago there were only a handful of juveniles from a small number of families involved. Through their hard work and dedication they have built it up to the thriving and successful club that it is today. They will be greatly missed not only by Midleton AC but by the whole athletics community.
Fifty Years on the Run
In October 2016 Midleton AC will be in existence for fifty years. A committee is being set up to organise events etc An open meeting of past and present members or other interested parties will be held in early March to gather and discuss ideas to help mark this momentous occasion.
