HSE 4Mile Ballinhassig
Sunday saw some great results from our crew who went to the HSE 4Mile in Ballinhassig. A total of one hundred and eighty runners took part making it feel like one of the traditional races we had before the current boom started. We had a fine crew there and it was great to see Matt Chojan back in action after a lay off of a year or more. We were in the prizes with Marie Gillman taking 1st O/50, Kathleen O'Connell 3rd O/60 and Donie O'Connell 2nd O/65. Whilst Joan McCarthy took 2nd team with the Bank Of Ireland. Well done all.

He Did Us Proud Neilus Aherne 2nd Irishman Home and he gets a GOLD Medal with the Irish Team
Doing nothing less than expected Neilus Aherne once again did Midleton AC proud only this time he did it for Ireland as well. Wearing the Irish vest for the first time and in his first international cross country he came 2nd Irishman home in what he described as ideal conditions and a good course and finished 5th O/60.
The team results which appeared after midnight have the Irish Team taking GOLD O/60. So Neilus gets a well deserved gold medal
