WEEKEND RUNAROUND

ENVELOPE PACKING BALLYCOTTON 10

The annual packing of envelopes for the Ballycotton 10 will take place on Thursday 23rd Feb commencing at 6pm in the CBS hall. Traditionally Midleton AC have always assisted in this so hopefully we will see as many as possible there to help. This also applies to retired or injured members every little bit helps and the more we have the quicker the job gets done. Even if you can only spare a half hour you will be most welcome at any time.

Kilworth 5Km

We had two runners here Sunday at this very popular race. Ger O'Regan who finished 29th in 20.22 and Mary O'Keeffe who won 1st O/50.

Cross Country

Gold for Sinead and Joan plus two Bronze for Neilus

On a very cold and windy  Sunday afternoon our crew did us proud at the National Cross Country Championships in Waterford CIT. Sinead Keavney had another brilliant run taking GOLD with the Cork team and narrowly missing out on an individual bronze when coming 4th O/35 whilst Joan Hough also took GOLD with the O/50 Cork Team adding to her vast collection of medals whilst the great Neilus Aherne really gave it his all in taking a bronze individual medal.
All our runners had great runs with very fine performances from Louise Barry, Maire Walsh, Gillian Bransfield, Marie Gillman, and Sally Drennan.
Our men also had great runs with Edwin Cashman,Edmond O'Sullivan, Francis Maunsell, John Cashman and Paul Kearns. There were some spectacular finishes especially from Neilus Aherne and Edwin Cashman who passed two or three in the finishing straight. A big thank you to all our runners and supporters for a great day.

Best of luck to all our crew running in the National Cross Country Championships in Waterford this Sunday and those who are venturing to Kilworth and elsewhere.

This is a great race and well worth supporting as Eagle AC are always great supporters of our Midleton 5 race. Also it is the traditional race to run before Ballycotton 10 as its a nice challenging course with a few hills and lets you know where you are at and helps you guide your pace for the big one.
