There was a fine turnout here on Sunday morning despite the early morning start of 9am and the dire weather warnings. A total of three hundred and thirty took part and its was great to see Sheila Buckley come 1st O/35 and Helen Gilroy 2nd O/50. Well done ladies its like old times seeing ye both in the winners listings. Danny

County Roads Championships

The next championship event on the calendar is the Cork Athletics County Road Championships which will be held on Friday, March 17 at 10.00 am in Castlelyons.
This is a 4 mile road race with a separate race for men and women, with each race incorporating novice and masters categories.  This means that everyone in the club is eligible to compete, unless there is anyone under 35 who has already been placed in the top three in a previous road county championships.
Castlelyons is a very short journey and the race is short and early so please try to support your club by competing.  A small group from Midleton AC competed last year and won several medals.  Let's see if we can improve on that this year.
Entries have to be made in advance.  So please let me know if you would like to be entered.

Kind regards,
