WEEKEND RUNAROUND

East Cork Novice Cross Country

What an amazing morning's running. It was cold, it was mucky, it was hard but it was definitely worth it.
There was some great running from our club members who braved very hard conditions to represent our club. We had brilliant runs from Eileen Leahy and Gillian Bransfield who despite slipping got up so fast the lady behind her wasn't sure she had seen her slip. Siobhan Murphy doing it for the first time loved it and will definitely be back. Susan Firzgerald ran solid as a rock  as always making up a great  ladies team.
Our men were led home by Edwin Cashman who continues to improve with every race followed by Don McDonald, Barry Williams (always a negative split and a flying finish) and once again the ever solid Ger O'Regan. We definitely have medals but which one we are not sure yet as the final results are not out and I do want to tempt fate. The photos will give you some idea of the wonderful morning we had. Danny

Clonakilty Report

Great results and achievements today in Clonakilty where Fionan O'hAodain got another PB This man is in flying form. We had two other runners in the 10Km who both had fine runs Mary Dennehy and Sarah O'Brien who are both recovering from injury.

In the half marathon Darina O'Brien had a really great run in her second half marathon in 2.29 and the constantly improving Karen Davis did a whopping 1.54. Well done all

Cross Country You Can Do It.

The East Cork novice cross country takes place on Sunday, 10 December in Watergrasshill.  Although I do not have to enter athletes in advance, it would make it easier for me, if anyone interested in running could let me know in advance.  If there is anyone who has been thinking about running cross country and would like to try it for the first time, this one would be a good race to start with.Sally

Clonakilty

Best of luck to our crew doing the Clonakilty Half and 10km tomorrow.
