Edmond’s Message

Wednesday 7pm Club Training will recommence from Army Surplus Store car park market Green @ 7pm on January 12th.

For a variety of reasons, the club has decided to move the 7pm Wednesday Midleton Community Hall session to Market Green, 7pm from the Co Op Stores car park. Edmond will take the session which will be run/ tempo run based in order to complement the speed session on Mondays and to accommodate those members who are unable to get to the Monday 6pm session.

There will be a light warm up 7 to 7.15pm, you will be organised into your appropriate group( 7min/ mile, 8 min/ mile etc up to 10min/mile plus group AND a recovery run group) a group leader will be identified, a route identified and off you go.

The idea here is to challenge yourself within a group, using the speed developed ( hopefully!) from the Monday speed session. Also and very importantly this is a regular definite club session affording time for chat, catch up and identifying possible new training partners/training group, bringing new members into the fold.

A few obvious things:

1. You are adults. You are responsible for yourself. This is a very busy town, surfaces can be dodgy. Please be careful!

2. You must wear appropriate high viz gear.

3. VARY your runs and training routines and training partners..... Do NOT do the same run with the same people every week!

Edmond.

BHAA First Race Of 2022

Message from BHAA

Our first race of the year is the traditional ESB Cross Country in Blackrock on Sunday Jan 9. Previously registered runners are still counted as registered for this race so check if you're on the (good) list. As this is a mixture of old and new there can be a delay for anybody recently registered so please bear with us.

Note this is a nice introduction to cross country for anyone interested in trying it out over a nice easy course with a nice friendly atmosphere. Danny
