Waterford Half Marathon

Some of our crew did the Waterford Half today

Margaret Jones reports "Oh lord I hated it . New route . So many long hills with no recovery. And the sun was beating down us . Strong head wind for a few miles also . Definitely won’t do it again . Now must say very well organized but hate those water cartons as you can’t carry them . Will stick to hills in Cobh for the month"

Coolagown 10Km

The inaugural Coolagown 10Km took place on Thursday evening.

This was traditionally a 5Km but the garda would not allow them use the usual route. The new route proved challenging but fair and was superbly organised by St Nicholas AC. Full credit to Dick O'Brien and crew for a superb evening. We had a fair few runners there.

Kevin Smith making his comeback ran a super race coming home in 40min+ and Edwin Cashman also made his comeback in fine style.

Our first lady was Eileen Leahy fresh from her victory on Tuesday evening. Others who had fine runs were Amanda Cooney and Maurice Ring.

Great Wins For Our Club

In the recent Munster Marathon and Half Marathon Championships help as part of the Great Limerick Run on the May weekend.

Results and medals have just arrived and our club has met with great success.

Daniel Bloom finished 2nd Overall in the Half Marathon and led the Midleton AC Team of himself, Derek Aherne and Declan Dorgan to 3rd place and the BRONZE medals

In the Marathon our team was led home by Ger O'Regan, followed by Mark Cronin and Paul O'Reilly to also take the BRONZE medals.

This is a fantastic achievement for our club and guys we are really proud of the success ye have brought us. Well done all.
