WEEKEND RUNAROUND

No Official Training on Monday Bank Holiday

Cork City Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay

On a rather miserable day for supporting but not bad for running and that's the important thing we saw a fine number of Midleton AC athletes run here today. Apologies to anyone whose photo I missed and thanks to Bernie Twomey and Joan McCarthy for the extra photo's. And HUGE congratulations to Tim O'Donoughue East Cork AC on his fantastic win and to Lizzie Lee Leevale AC (a former Midleton 5 winner) on winning the Ladies race. Daniel Bloom got a PB in the half of 18 seconds and came 2nd in his age category. Henry Milward had another fine run knocking over two minutes off his PB. Any other PBs or stories please send them to me.

Prizes Galore Once Again

A really well organised event and a credit to the organisers but such a pity not to see a larger crowd with more local clubs supporting it.

We took a great number of prizes once again for the club. Our first lady home was Eileen Leahy having a great run and our first man was Tony Forrestal having his first race in a while .Well done to all who ran.

Amongst our prizewinners were

Louise Barry 2nd O/40

Breda Sheedy 1st O/55

Martha McNamara 1st O/60

Declan Dorgan 1st O/45

Ger O'Regan 1st O/50

Mark Walsh 1st O/60

Donie O'Connell 1st O/60 and Loveness Hegarty got a new PB.
