Running With The King
(Free talk for club members)
The club has arranged for Noel Berkley also known as the King Of Ballycotton (having won the Ballycotton 10 no less than six times) to give a talk on running to the club. The talk will be suitable for all levels of runner and will focus on skills and training techniques to help everyone improve their running. It will be followed by a question and answer session again suitable for all levels.
Noel who has vast experience as a runner from Olympic level down continues to race and win so has a vast amount of knowledge to impart on running from juvenile level to his now master level. A champion on track as well as road also cross country where he was on the Irish world cross country team nine times. He also was on the Irish team at the Barcelona Olympics in the 10,000 mtrs in 1992. He holds a personal best of 2.15.25 for the marathon and a personal best of 47.17 (that’s not a misprint) for the Ballycotton 10.
This is a unique opportunity for club members to learn how to improve their skills and with Ballycotton 10 looming in March a chance to find out how its done by the king.
