Cobh 10 Mile
Cobh 10 took place this morning with a total of 720 registered runners over the very hilly and warm course. As usual we were well represented with a large number of both male and female runners. Our first runners home was Andre Brodkorb who had a fine run and our first lady home was the ever improving Sheila Buckley in a time of 71.30 Others who ran well were Ronan Mc Manus,Aidan O'Herlihy,Paul Kearns and Pat Walsh who for a change ran his own race rather than his usual pacing and helping someone else which he is so good at. Also with good runs were Owen O'Connell, John Walsh, Brian Healy and Tim Cronin.
Amongst the ladies were Margaret Twohig, Bernie Twomey,Susan Fitzgerald,Colette Barry and Mary O'Keeffe. Our prizewinners were Stanislaw Byczek 4th O/50 and Christine Murphy 2 nd O/40 who was just pipped for first by someone called Sonia O'Sullivan who seems to be appearing at a lot of races around here lately.
Joseph Fouhy ran his first 10 miler in great style finishing very comfortably in over 90 mins and did not stop to walk even once.A lot of runners out there today were effected by the heat. I apologise to those whose names I have left out .
